First Samuel 8 records a battle between Israel and the Philistines, a battle won by prayer. In gratitude for victory, Samuel placed a memorial stone, calling it Ebeneze, to recognize “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” Since Intercessory Insight began, the focus has most often been on prayer needs. Today we pause to look back.

Ebenezer. Thus far has the Lord helped. All this has happened in spite of persecution, sickness, family problems, political pressure, Satan’s opposition. Workers taking God’s Word to yet unreached areas, echo the Israelites cry in I Samuel 8:8 – Do not cease to cry to the Lord our God for us....
Pray:
- Father, we reflect on the mighty things that You have accomplished. In spite of obstacles that have seemed overwhelming at times, You have allowed Your truth to spread. We praise You.
- We cannot imagine the rejoicing in heaven over the thousands of Hmong who have come to know You. We rejoice too.
- Give us perseverance in prayer for those who are working on the front lines.
- Unleash Your power and authority over all the powers of darkness; let Your light continue to break through the darkness enveloping those who have never yet heard of You.
