Jesus, teaching His disciples, focused on the importance of one. If a man has 100 sheep and one is astray, Jesus taught, he will leave the 99 to search for the straying one. And when it is found, he rejoices greatly. . .more than over the 99 which hadn’t strayed.
Heaven has been rejoicing over another “one.”
Prayer walkers in a country politically antagonistic to the gospel, recently encountered an elderly woman who needed no convincing to turn to Christ. Upon hearing about Jesus, she said, “I have been waiting to hear of another way my entire life. Why did you take so long in getting here? Now I can die in peace.”
Until this month all people in that village were without Christ. Now there is one “found sheep.” The prayer walkers left CDs which present the gospel by chronological teaching which the woman can share with family members.
Pray:
- Jesus, there are millions more Hmong, like this woman, who are just waiting to hear about You. Plant passion for getting the gospel to them in churches and individuals, calling some to go and others to support them with regular prayer and financial giving.
- As people in this village hear the Word, help them to accept Your salvation with eager repentance.
- Thank You for renewed opportunities to train leaders in areas where training had ceased because of opposition. Protect teachers and students so that training can be held without hindrance. Raise up mature leaders who are firmly grounded in Your Word.
- You know the needs of struggling workers. Provide for those with insufficient financial support; bring health to those under physical attack; protect their children; encourage the discouraged.
Above all, let Your name be glorified and the gospel spread to each one still waiting
