A recent team visiting a creative access nation to deliver Scriptures heard a pastor share how God has protected him.

Pastor A wanted to visit a section of his country but felt checked about going.  Yet, loving his people, he still tried to get there.  The public bus he was on stopped just before entering the area which was his destination; the driver refused to go further.   Still determined to go, Pastor A looked for a taxi.  Finding one that was headed toward his destination, the Pastor asked for a ride.  The driver said he was full so he couldn’t take him.  Yet the taxi had no passengers.   Realizing that the Lord had been trying to prevent him from going all along, Pastor A gave up and thanked God.  He found out later that he would have arrived during the time of a protest when many Christian brothers were killed.   He also learned  that he was high on the list of people the police wanted and that they were specifically looking for him in the area he’d wanted to visit.

Another time the Pastor was teaching a Bible study in a small village hut.   Suddenly the police surrounded the village and wanted to know where Pastor A was.  They walked into the hut where he was but seemed to be blinded in some way because he was there but they never saw him.  They left, still looking for Pastor A.

Not always are Christians protected in such dramatic ways.  In Vietnam 17 Hmong Christians have been recently arrested for attending a Bible study and sentenced to 3-10 years imprison.  Two other Hmong have been arrested for transporting Hmong Bibles and either face fines equivalent to 8-10 months of salary each or imprisonment.
