"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another"
(John 13:34-35).

This passage came to mind as we visited two Dong believers. Even though they do not have the scriptures in their heart language, or maybe have never heard this passage, they know that in love God gave his only Son for them.

Simply meditating on this fact can reveal the love he showed us through his death and resurrection and can help us in turn show this love toward others. Christ washed the feet of the disciples as an example of his love and humility, and commanded his disciples to love one another. We share our faith through a Christ-like life and with words of truth from his word. These two aspects of sharing the gospel cannot be separated.

• Pray that the Dong believers would have this humility and love for their brothers and sisters in Christ, because he said that people would know that they belong to Him by it.
• Pray also that they would believe and understand that they do not live on righteousness of their own, but by his righteousness that is revealed in the gospel. (Rom 1:16-17)
