Patches in the Knees
The last work on the Dong audio Bible stories was completed almost a year ago. The original recordings needed to be checked for accuracy. In December 2004, a consultant helped us check about 10 of the recordings. In those sessions, we recorded “patches” for the spots of the recordings that were not Biblically acceptable.

The end of November 05, the the patching process was begun. Three stories were patched - and they sound great! With a little tweaking of the patches, I seriously doubt anybody will even notice the alterations, unless they were specifically listening for such.

Thank God for the dedication of the Dong brothers who have worked so hard.

 

The original project was for 40 stories. It now looks like 'The Jesus Film' might be completed by the middle of this year. If so, the audio Dong Bible stories could focus on the Old Testament portions and leave all the Jesus-related material for the film to cover in much more depth.

If that will work, having completed the patches for nine of the stories during December, we need only to find time for a consultant to help check the remaining eleven, and after patching those up, this project could be completed!

• Continue to pray that the consultant and the Dong translators will find time in the next few months to check the remaining stories.
• Let us all pray for the remaining few stories awaiting patches to be finished quickly.
• Also, we need to pray for an opportunity for a consultant to check the remaining stories. May it be the Lord’s will to have these stories in use by the middle of this year

Business is a solid way to serve and interact with Dong in their daily lives on a long-term basis.

• Pray that workers will be able to settle among the Dong as soon as possible.
• Pray for a business to be focused among the Dong people and working for their benefit.
