Please continue to pray for the Dong translation.

 

There is a rough (very rough) draft of the entire Dong New Testament, but the national Chinese translator has focused revision on Luke for the development of the Jesus Film.

 

The film is still far off, and he is alone in this work. Please ask God to build up a translation team; a translation team will work more effectively and will produce a better end product.

• His pressing need is a native speaker of Dong to help him check and revise the current draft (he knows Dong, but is not a native speaker), but I am praying specifically for God to provide somebody that is more permanent, instead of just a short-term checker (he has had this before). The complicating factor is that we have heard of only one Christian who is a native speaker of the standard dialect, in which the translation is being done.
• Another prayer, on top of the translation needs, is for God to spread his word to this area, an entire county with one known believer.
• God intends to give his word to the Dong; let us pray for God to tear down the barriers holding back this work.
