WF’s father was planning a trip to their village, he needed advice. Hs wife and youngest son (who lives in another distant province and who is not a believer) had been bothered by demonic nightmares for about two weeks. They felt it was closely related to a “ghost festival” which took place this past week with accompanying increased demonic activity. His plan to return their village was to tear down a demon worship shelf that was still in their old home in the village, which they left empty 7 or 8 years ago when they came to the city.
This was an altar to worship demons which had been given to WF’s mother, the former spirit medium, when she was in her early teens and first became possessed by demons. It was clear now to WF’s parents that this was the final and deepest tie they had to Satan which needed to be severed forever.
Their mood was initially one of anxiety and fear. They knew what needed to be done, but could it be done? Is God truly bigger than these demons which had been worshipped for centuries and at served for decades by WF’s mother? Could they break that tie?
A group of believers gathered together with them to pray, study God’s word in Joshua and sang worship songs. There is now a definite peace, confidence and leading from the Lord to go forward at this time. Tonight, LJ, her husband and WF’s Father are planning to take the night train to their province. WF’s mother already left three days ago and will meet them there. They will spend Saturday praying and then tearing down the demon shelf. They’ve also contacted some local Bouyei believers who live in the neighboring district town to come join them. They want to share their testimony with the villagers as God’s gives them opportunity.

- Pray for healthy relationships and unity between the believers.
- Pray against division or misunderstandings between people, this can easily arise in an intense situation involving spiritual warfare. A tense situation just came up last night and now has been resolved but made everyone again aware of the importance of unity and love within the group.
