LJ, a strong Bouyei believer has a brother-in-law who recently had an accident in which he broke two bones in his left hand.  In the past, he was only interested in earning money by trash recycling but  with his hand broken he could no longer work and he didn’t have enough to pay for surgery. Some believers subsidized surgery to pin the bones so that they can heal properly.  LJ and her husband spent a lot of time speaking with him while he was in the hospital.  Since his discharge he has been coming to the clinic for post-operative care.  About a week and a half ago, he and his wife had dinner with a group of believers. LJ’s brother-in-law and his wife both believed.

At that same dinner was the daughter-in-law of another of our patients, a Bouyei man who had to have a cancerous leg amputated.  She believed as well.

A man whose leg was amputated had complications when his surgical wound opened up. While at the rehab center for wound care he read the Bible and other Christian materials including a copy of Joni Erickson Tada’s autobiography in Chinese.  After the Christian doctors changed his dressing, they asked him what he understood of all that he had been reading.  He was ready to turn to Christ and he prayed to receive the Lord.  This man, Mr. W, is in his mid-60’s and has four grown sons who are all married.  He is very clear he wants his other family members to believe and worship the only true God.
