We were greeted with this, one evening as we went up the top of the road to see if any of our usual taxi guys were there. Simon had lost his license card a couple of weeks earlier which could have meant a heavy fine and prison if he was stopped by the police and wasn't able to produce it there and then. He also knew that because of the arbitrary nature if things here he could face an even bigger bill if he tried to get a replacement. We said we'd pray for him as his livelihood was in jeopardy and in the end he was able to get a replacement for a very reasonable amount of money….he was happy again.

• For the many people caught in difficult situations like this, where authority is arbitrary. Pray that in these times, people will turn to the Living God to deliver them, not just from small problems but into His new life and hope.
