Mien (Yao)
MM, who is 14 is recovering from a motorbike accident. Thank God that there was no major internal injury.
- Please pray that this accident would be a turning point in her life and lead her to completely surrender her life to Christ.
Heartbreaking news from Waterfall Basin village said that Nikon has been living a wild life. It seems that he did not learn his lesson last year when he broke his arm last year.
- Pray that he will meet the Lord in a very personal way that would lead to him turning his life around.
At the Mien Bible Dedication service and conference a pledge was made by the Mien that they would love, study, obey and preach the Bible. The other day a young Mien girl who works in town came in all excited because she had seen the Mien Bible on the web! So many young people tend to depend on the Thai language and forget their Mien. Now 'May' has purchased a Bible and is determined to get to read it since the whole Bible is available.
- Please pray that they will keep this promise they made with the Author of the Bible.
The Mien Youth Annual Camp was held but sadly no one out of the 200 attendants brought nor used the Mien Bible. The youth are educated in the national language of Thai and they are reticent to use or promote their mother tongue of Mien.
- Please pray that the newly elected Youth committee would help promote and use the Mien language to help reach the unreached Mien in China, Vietnam and Laos as well as the unreached Mien villages within Thailand where the original type of Mien is still used.
- 14 young Mien plan to attend a conference to learn how to promote their mother tongue of Mien in a country where it is not the national language. Please pray that they will take pride in the Mien language and that they will have a vision to establish a Mien Kindergarten entirely taught in the Mien language. Please pray that they realize that their language is a God-given resource for evangelism to the 1.5 million unreached Mien in the surrounding countries.
