Can't I just pray at home?
You can pray for unreached people at home! However, we have found that many people feel they ought to pray for unreached people, but have trouble carrying it out. By actually coming to Southeast Asia, interacting with the people, eating the food they eat, riding the buses they ride, visiting the villages they live in, and seeing their needs with your own eyes you will be better equipped and motivated to pray effectively upon your return.

Who should come?

We want people who are serious about praying for unreached people and persecuted Christians. You will probably pray more during your week on the prayer journey, than you have ever prayed in one week before. A prayer journey is not a glorified vacation or a holiday for Christian tourists. Prayer journeys are intense, focused, high adventure, high impact trips.

So what will we actually do during the prayer journey?
You will have the opportunity to pray for people in villages where they have never been told about the love of God, as well as visit historical sights, which will help you better understand the spiritual and cultural pressures that persecuted Christians face daily. You will also be gathering data, which will help long term missionaries plan for future church planting efforts. The day begins with a team meeting, where you will review the prayer points for the city/village you are in. Your team will then split up into pairs, and walk through the city, praying for specific prayer points, as well as anything else the Lord leads you to pray for. Team members usually visit markets, temples, schools, and government buildings interacting with the local people as much as they can. After about 1½ hours of focused prayer, the team comes together and shares what happened while they were apart. For example, sometimes the Lord provides divine appointments, where team members are able to share their faith freely. Other times team members are invited to play a sport, or have a meal with the people they have come to pray for. The team prays together again, and moves on to the next location.

How many people are on a team?

In order to keep a low profile in the countries we are targeting, the team size is a maximum of 6 people, but it needs to have at least 4 people. If you want to come, find a few friends/family members to come with you. If you can’t find anyone, you can contact us and we will try to help you find a team to join.

How much time at work will I miss?
The average prayer journey is 2 weeks long. These 2 weeks includes: 2 days of training and orientation, 6 to 7 days on the prayer journey, 1 day for debriefing and 1 day to relax (ride elephants, visit waterfalls...). Add your travel time plus jet lag time adjustment if needed. Longer trips may be available upon request.
