Geographical Distribution
The Bouyei have a population of 2.5 million spread through Soutwest China. In Vietnam there are 2,000 Bouyei.

     Part of the Tai language family and related to Zhuang.

Livelihood
Ninety percent of the Bouyei are agricultural workers. Some have turned to industrial work as factories develop in their areas.
