Tibetan Lamas (teachers)
Although a
Tibetan Buddhist would claim that his spiritual ideal is not
significantly contingent on the ‘things’ of this physical
world, many lamas and monks find themselves in a luxurious
setting. The daily rituals and traditions they observe are
bound to a plethora of objects - prayer flags, prayer beads,
amulets, candles, prayer wheels, incense, idols, altars,
etc. All this ‘stuff’ crowds the lives of those who
practice this religion – such as the man in the photo above.
